How to put music on your Tumblr!

1. Streampad

Click Tumblr, follow the directions.

Pros: You can playback all your audio posts you’ve ever uploaded Cons: You can ONLY playback all your audio posts you’ve ever uploaded; also, they only play in order, aka no randomizing.

2. Hypster Make an account (it’s free!). After, go to your “My Account” page and use the search bar in the middle of the page to start building your playlist.

When you’re done, click “Player Skins” (has a picture of a casette tape) from “My Account” page, click the first option “Bar Widget”, select the color you want, get the code and follow the directions on where to put it. Within the code you will see —> ’autostart’:’false’,’shuffle’:’false’ IF you want the music to AUTO start and be on SHUFFLE when people go to your page, change “false” to “true” on both.

Pros: You can add any songs that are found on YouTube through this way of making a music bar (the site pulls songs from YouTube for the playlists). You can also shuffle the songs on the playlist, since hearing the music in order can get annoying sometimes.

Cons: Can’t really pick specific colors for the widget, other than that, it’s pretty nifty. Since the songs are pulled from YouTube, a lot of the songs I’ve wanted were protected and I couldn’t add it to my list.

3. Mixpod Make an account (this is also free!). Make a playlist and follow the steps as it takes you through styling your playlist to your liking and saving it. Grab the code (there is one specifically for Tumblr). Plug it into your html and you’re good to go!

Pros: Wide variety of songs and never had a problem not finding something or it not loading. Lots of cool looking players and the colors are super customizable. Cons: Didn’t really find any cons :3 But let me know what you think!
